You get What you Pay For 2008-08-02
I own one I got it for Free when I bought My Camera...Yeah. It may have good features, BUT it doesn't do anything very well. The photos aren't worth the money you spend on the paper you print it on.
Yeah.
Plus it is SOOOOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW...... even when just printing a black text on on like a word document.
In Addition, *ALWAYS CHECK HOW MUCH IT COSTS TO BUY THE INK CARTRIDGES!*
To refill all the colors PLUS just 1 black.
For Prices on Refills go to...
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/BuyInkResults.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&sku=C11C626011&ref=BID

To get your better performance, this is not it. To keep Prices low...Still not worth it (due to the High Ink Refill Price for such a tiny in Cartridge.)

I shouldn't complain for gettting it for free...BUT I want to warn the people who will have to actually PAY for this.

I really Hope This helps Everyone with their decision on purchasing a new Printer.
Bloody screw up problems maker 2008-06-16
EPSON R220 Less then one year , first set of cartridges runs out on one color (so called ) absolutly not empty yet but .. no printing anymore , I used this thing for sometimes a cd or dvd print, that's what it innitianally was bought for.CD tray misalignes 5 out of 10 times , so keeping you busy trying to get a good cd print and using your costly time. colors are not correct at all blue prints up as pink etc ..cartridges are bloody expensive , chipped and after countdown of 14.000 jets giving indication still 9% full , but refuses to print anything !cleaning of heads is a nightmare that never comes true, only waisting and draining your bloody expensive cartridges ! printhead clogs up regularly after one week of no print.you cannot clean the things yourself like my HP printer ( I suck the ink through with a wet seringe and they print perfect again, even after refilling the same HP cartridge for a dozen times at least) More : ink is washed away with water , sweat or humidity .. pure rubbish ! Installed later with white products cartridges : problems ! and no print: indicating empty cartridges that are still full ! resetting programs don't work , no recognizeing of chips or other failures .. Inbuilt selfdestructive Epson technologie !! How can you get away with that ??? so please reader : DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT OR YOU WILL END UP AS ANOTHER DISSAPOINTED CUSTOMER AT THE END OF THIS LIST.. YOU ARE WARNED ! don't neglect the meaning of so many buyers that are let down by this Epson thing and all by the same programmed reasons ! Hope I saved you a lot of trouble and bad days .. Benjamin in Belgium.
A pitty I cannot give it ZERO rating ! lost all my money and my time on this LEMON !
Worst printer I ever owned 2008-06-02
I started having problems with this printer before I got through even the first set of ink cartridges. The nozzles were getting clogged almost every time I used it and I had to go through numerous cleaning cycles. On the third set of cartridges I kept getting an error message saying there was a paper jam when there was not. I did some research on the internet and found this was a common problem. I kept rcycling the printer on and off about a dozen times, doing a page eject each time and the paper jam error disappeared only to be replaced by the infamous 2 flashing lights problem. I downloaded a program to reset this error code but it did not help. I have bought my last Epson printer and will probably replace it with a Canon product.
My first review ever -- because this product is truly the worst of the worst 2008-03-25
Here's the scenario. Late at night trying to print a DVD label for a gift for a friend flying to Europe in the morning. Just loaded new black ink cartridge that had run empty - Epson cartridge, not a knock-off. Other colors are low but show 10%. Repeated attempts to print, but no black ink coming out, even though the maintenance utility shows a full cartridge. Use Epson's on-line troublshooter; no options for my scenario. Useless. As I try repeatedly to print just in black and white, another color runs out. It uses other colors even while printing in black and white only. Now it won't print AT ALL, because it does not print if even only one color has run out. Two hours of frustration, and now my friend will not receive the gift. Add to that the hours of desiging the DVD cover -- all wasted. Epson has cost me hours in frustration and wasted time. This product will wreck your productivity and frustrate you. Avoid it! People at Epson should be prosecuted!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER 2008-02-03
I have never written a product review before, but was motivated by this awful product. I understand the razor/razor blade model, but EPSON redefines extortion with their printer. First, if any color is out, the printer will not print, a set of genuine EPSON cartridges are 70 dollars and the printer will not let you use non-EPSON ink... please someone from the Justice Dept needs to read this and not let EPSON get away with extortion!!
