Great Printer
2008-11-23
|
I've had HP 5150 for about +/- 5 years now, and am extremely pleased with it. I have not had any major problems with it, other than the printer itself not recognizing the Black Cartridge. To fix it, you simply have to open the top and close it. It works fine just after. One time a few years back, something happened to the printer, don't exactly remember what, but it sort of broke, but I fixed it. It's been a great printer, and I intend to keep it until it dies. I would buy another one in a Heartbeat, if they still made it :). My next printer will most likely be a laser jet, mainly because they have come down in price and you don't have to pay for the EXPENSIVE inkjet cartridges. That is one downside to this printer, actually, the ink cartridges cost a lot. They're better to refill, so that's what I've started doing.
As what others said, the paper tray is somewhat of an annoyance. It's not too bad, however, because you get used to it.
I use this printer a lot, and it's been a great product, will definitely buy another HP when and if ever this machine dies |

Amazon steals my money
2008-10-12
|
| Amazon charged my credit card $61.99 and promised shipping between Sept 17 and Oct 2. It is now October 12 and I have not received the printer. Several e-mails were sent but nothing has been done about it. As far as I am concerned Amazon has stolen the money and not performed thus losing any further business from me.I later discovered 5 letters of similar complaint on their site. |

Old reliable
2007-06-27
|
| Old reliable and easy to refill the cartridges. This is my third one. I have burned out two others with HEAVY use. When this one goes, I will get a fourth. I don't trust the new models. HP seems to be catering to the photo printing crowd, and I prefer to get my photos finished commercially. I have had problems refilling the color cartridges, but since I use color so infrequently, this probably contributes to the problem, and also the reliability of B&W printing and ease of refilling the B&W cartridges more than makes up for it. |

I loved it so much i got another one.
2007-05-09
|
| and another one. I have had this printer for several years. My sister bought one and my brother bought one too. we all still have our printers and love them. We buy bulk or remanufactured inks at great dscounts. Am hoping to upgrade to an all in one with an lcd screen, but still scared it won't be this good. I print photos all the time, people cannot believe i printed at home. of course u have to learn how to work with your printer and get the right paper. but once u get it wow the quality is great |

gets 'er done!

| Works well as both a photo printer and general use printer. With settings for Photo printing, the image quality is very good. The ink cartridges are expensive. |
