Good scans
2003-08-28
|
| I got a great deal on this scanner so I couldn't pass it up. I did initially have some installation issues in windows XP that took some time to get straightened out. The scanner produces nice scans and is very fast via the USB 2.0 connection. But over the last few months I've devoloped a weird haze on the underside of the glass and Canon seems less than enthusiastic about fixing or replacing it. I don't notice any difference in the scans, but my guess is that the haze will only get worse and will eventually effect the scans. |

slow, buttons don't work as advertised
2003-04-26
|
| The buttons on the front of the scanner don't work as advertised, so I have to go in through the software to initiate a scan. Scans are slow but good enough quality. You're better off spending a little more money for a quality product. |

It Worked Great
2003-04-17
|
| Initially I began to use the D1250U2 scanner with windows XP on an older slot A athlon system. Everything worked great, the scanner and software enabled me to scan dozens of family pictures for a scrapbook. I was very pleased with the ease and the quality of the scanned photo. Then I upgraded to a new t-bred athlon xp, new nvidia 2 motherboard and I have not been able to use my scanner since. XP will not recognize my scanner. I cannot load the twain drivers. XP tells me my USB device (the scanner) is defective and needs to be replaced. I have exhausted the world wide web for an answer. Before the change I was so pleased, now I'm not so. |

Does the job.

|
| I must confirm with the other reviewers that the adjusting the lamp for every scan is a little annoying, but the multi-photo feature does save time in the scanning process. It's a great deal for 50 dollars. |

So far so good.

| The scanner arrived while I was at home and my non-tech savvy girlfriend setup it within a few minutes. The software that comes with the D1250U2 is pretty much all you need to start scanning images ASAP. I must have scanned 75+ items in the first night with no problems, the 5-10 second initialization delay for each scan didnt seem to keep me from being productive. Every image looks clear and identically colorful to it's original. I am very pleased for the price I paid for the D1250U2. |
