Quality & Versatility
2002-09-26
| I got the ELPH before heading to JazzFest in New Orleans a year and a half ago so I wouldn't have to lug my 35mm rig around. Turns out, it isn't just inexpensive -- it's also a heckuva point-and-shoot camera. I was surprised by the quality of photos it produced. Sharp, clean...usually well-balanced flash (although it has its moments). It has some limitations, but photo enthusiasts will be able to figure them out pretty quickly. I even found a couple settings that allow me to be creative in low light settings in nightclubs. It has become my everyday camera (football games, birthday parties, JazzFest), while my 35mm and medium-format are for more specific "shoot" purposes. So small it fits in a pocket; so light you forget you have it with you; so capable you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner. |

Not a bad little toy
2002-07-16
| I first received my Canon ELPH LT as a Christmas gift in 1999, and two and a half years later, it still takes the same quality of picture that it did on its first roll of film. In fact, it uses such little power (mostly due to the absence of a zoom lens) that in the time I have owned it, I have only replaced the battery twice. My camera has had an extremely rough existence, including three months in Africa, but it has never stopped working or needed any repair. And the panoramic lens took some awesome landscapes that my friends with expensive 35mm cameras couldn't take (and their cameras wouldn't fit in their pockets!). I have had only one problem with the camera, and that is that the print on the casing rubs off if your hands are often sweaty when you take pictures. It's not a huge problem given that by the time it had come off, I already knew what all the buttons did, but it would be nice to not have to explain them to other people. But other than that, it has been a perfect camera! Next up for me - the digital ELPH! | ||

Great camera at a great price
2002-06-29
| This is the first real camera I've ever bought and I'm glad I made the investment. When shopping around for a camera, I was looking for a few main things. It had to be: 1. Easy to use 2. Portable, not a hassle to lug around 3. in my price range (under $70) This camera is ,of course all three. I didn't know about APS cameras before i bought this camera. I've seen my mom struggle trying to put film in her 35mm and that made me want to stick with disposables and it also made me apprehensive about buying a camera. Then i found out about APS and it I was like Hallelujah! It was a godsend for a klutz like me. Just drop the film in and the camera does the rest. |

A great value
2002-05-16
| This was my first APS, and Canon, camera, and the best, so far. Small easy to use in any social environment. I have found that the pictures are uniformly good, sometimes excellent, using a variety of makes of film, and if the odd print is not satisfactory, then there is nothing that a scanner and a Photoshop software programme cannot fix. It has been admired world wide, it is still performing flawlessly after three years of intense usage - on its second lithiun battery. I now have a second Elph, which zooms - thus, requiring more brainpower - my original is still my favourite, and now so cheap! |

Incredibly tiny, Great Photos
2002-03-26
| This is a great little (very, very little) camera, which is easy to take anywhere and produces very good snapshots. We have used it for several years now, and are extremely satisfied with it. It also uses the new multi-format film, which allows you to take portrait and panorama shots from the same roll. It's been a great camera. | ||

A good starter camera
2001-10-30
| This is a great camera for the beginner. Very easy to use and the panoramic choices are great. However- I did not think that the colors were captured correctly, everything looked duller in the actual photograph. There is no zoom button and at times it makes you wish you had spent the little extra money to get the next level Elph with a zoom. Overall, this was a great camera that I have had for over two years now. It has travelled the world with me without a problem. On top of everything, it fits in my pocket! | ||

Capable Little Snapshooter
2001-09-29
| After years of lugging 35mm SLRs around (all now on the junkpile) and going through a string of disposables, I bought this little camera and have been very pleased with it. The APS format makes film handling idiot-proof. The photos are generally good; however, redeye can be a concern indoors. Also, I noticed that the camera has a relatively shallow depth of field, but I'm sure most low-cost cameras share this trait. I literally take this camera everywhere and use it often with a tiny plastic velcro-enhanced tripod that allows me to attach the camera to trekking poles, railings, fenceposts etc. The sheer portability and simplicity of this camera makes it a joy. I've caught photographs that others with their clumsy 35mm SLRs (no matter how automatic they are) couldn't hope to get. I heartily recommend it as an easy to use snapshooter, a second camera, or even for photography students looking to discipline their composition skills. Note: this inexpensive camera does not support APS mid-roll film changes, but heck, if that were really important, you could buy two cameras and they'd still fit in your pocket! | ||

best point and shoot camera you will ever find
2001-05-20
| now that the bottom of the APS market has disintegrated the APS eplh lt which, when new cost 10 times what it's selling for now, is the most technically precise and engineered APS camera you will ever find. digital stopped APS dead in the water, leaving canon holding the bag on the finest p and s ever made. w/o going into it's dynamic specs which have been reduced to an incredibly simple to operate camera which takes glorious photographs, all i can say when a work of art which takes art sells for 50-60 bux, you better buy this teensy marvel b4 its history. you won't be dissappointed. have a great time! | ||

Great Camera
2001-05-06
| This camera is awesome!! It takes three kinds of pics. and the quality is great. I can take it anywhere because it's so small. The price is great for the quality of the camera too. | ||

Great Camera
2000-05-20
| great camera, i bought it here and its given me the best pictures of all my previous cameras, it fits in your pocket, and is the size of a pager, with the width of 2 pagers. nice handy camera, film cost is alittle more, but well worth getting great panoramic pictures! | ||

MOMENTS MISSED F O R E V E R..............
2000-05-03
| This camera is compact and versitile, however, I have missed alot of moments by getting more then half of my picture's 'smeared' OR 'blurred'. I just open the shutters, point and shoot! Some times it takes the picture right away and sometimes it takes a second or two before it reacts. By then, the picture has already changed! I've missed alot of precious moments of my birthing, my infant and my family due to the quality of this camera and delay of the shots! I dread using my camera because of my bad experience and dissapointment in the quality after developing my pictures (which are expensive and not worth it in the end)! I wish I could say better things about this camera, but I'm definately convinced that this camera is a LEMON! | ||

The Elph LT--A Small Camera for a Small Purse
2000-04-22
| The Elph LT is a great camera, and it is the cheapest of the Elph series. Being cheap comes with a price, though. The ElphLT comes with hardly any features. Mainly, it is missing a zoom. If you have a little more money, I'd recomend the Elph, Elph Jr., or Elph2. Otherwise, Elph LT is an OK camera. | ||

Great for snapshots; don't expect to get shots off quickly
2000-04-20
| I really like this camera overall. I have taken it on several trips, and gotten great pictures. Also, the price is right. It was great for hiding under my shirt in not so savory foreign marketplaces. However, I took it to a CART race, and used it to take pictures in the padock area. By the time the camera got through thinking about the light etc. my great shot had passed. And I am not talking race cars at full speed. I was talking a race car being pushed, or pulled by a golf cart, going max 3MPH. I think I could have done this faster with my manual 35mm Minolta. Also, if you don't have an APS, expect higher development costs. Overall, this is a great vacation camera, but don't expect to get shots off quickly. | ||

Small is beautiful
2000-03-25
| Small and handy camera, very comfortable, fit in your pocket, great for outdoor use with plenty of sunlight. However the result not too good for indoor use with low light (ASA 400 didn't help much). For optimal result in outdoor use Wide Angle mode (H Print). Have fun. | ||
For the price, for the size, hard to beat
2000-02-26
| First used this camera at the Las Vegas CES show last month, all pictures came out perfect, including all the night scenes. I used the 400 speed film indoors and 200 speed film outdoors; had no problem with the flash by observing the maximum distances outlined by the guide. It's light to carry and simple to use. The only shortcomings are the tiny buttons to switch flash modes - I have to use my keys or toothpick to depress them. I got this camera from another retailer (Wxxxxxx) at a lesser price. | ||

Beware the hype of APS
2000-01-27
| OK. Its little, useful, goes anywhere, easy to use. But when i accidently lost the ELPH's battery cover on a recent trip to Florida and had to buy an emergency 35mm disposable for $8, guess which pictures turned out best? Grainy, poor color saturation, etc are my complaints of APS in general. If you're looking for great pictures, don't leave home without your SLR. If you're looking for something that's comfortable in jacket pocket on the ski slope, pick up a quality one-off at the base lodge. | ||

Awesome camera!
2000-01-22
| Great to take anywhere. Loads of features, and for an unbeatable price. Picture quality is fabulous, and it is very easy to use. Must have! | ||
Great Little(and I mean Little) Camera
2000-01-18
| So small you hardly know it's there...when I first used the camera, I was skeptical because of the size. Lo and behold, when I got the first roll developed, it was great. This is a great 2nd camera. You can take it anywhere and not miss a photo op. | ||

Cannon Elph Lt
1999-12-08
| This is the smallest aps camera that I could find anywhere around. At only 4.1 oz you can fit it almost into just about any pocket. It has all the features that most people want in a point and shoot for a super low price. For such a small and user friendly camera it has a variey of features such as the red eye reduction flash and the drop in loading. As an avid skier it is easy to carry and use on the slopes. It is a must buy! |
