Amazon.com Product Description
The Canon EOS Rebel G is a fully automatic, ultracompact, and quiet SLR camera that comes equipped with a built-in retractable flash. This deluxe kit includes the camera body and a 28-80mm detachable Canon EF zoom lens, plus accessories not found in the standard kit--a UV filter, wide shoulder strap, padded Canon gadget bag, lens-care kit, minitripod, and display photo album.

The Rebel G features a high-speed, selectable, three-point autofocus system and Canon's exclusive AIM (Advanced Integrated Multipoint) control system, which links the Rebel G's three-point autofocus to multizone metering for available light and flash. It offers 11 exposure modes (full auto to metered manual with indicator), plus multiple exposure, exposure compensation, and autoexposure bracketing. The Rebel G features an enhanced command dial for mode selection, and is fully compatible with Canon's complete line of EF autofocus lenses and EOS system specialties, including battery pack BP-8, grip tripod GR-80TP, and remote switch RS-60E3.

Features like autoexposure bracketing (in one-half stop increments up to plus or minus two stops) and E-TTL autoflash (enables high-speed synch for automatic fill flash), as well as improved control of red-eye reduction, the in-focus beeper, and the autoexposure lock, make the EOS Rebel G more advanced than previous Rebel models.

BEST CAMERA EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2008-05-25
I bought my camera in October 1996 and it still performs like the day I bought it. There are many features to have available. I was recently thinking about getting the Canon Rebel digital and selling this one but NO WAY, I have a small Canon digital that I have to take pics but I definitely will keep my rebel QD camera. I also have the bigger lens and it works well with that also.
Best camara I have ever owned 2003-05-26
After years of fooling with ditagal camaras I desided to go back to the basics. I owned one of these a few years ago, but I gave it away to my Father when I bought a new ditagal. My pictures were never the same so I went back to SLR with this great camara. Right away, there was a huge diffrence. It is even better the second time around.
My only complant is the flimsy tripode, but luckly I had an old one. I recomend this for anyone wheater you are a newbie or a pro.
Great camara. Don't wait! Buy it now.
A very good first SLR 2003-02-16
If you are buying a SLR for the first time and want to play around and with less money this is a sure bet! I have it for 4 years and it has taught me very valuable lessons. I now use it as an extra camera body since I got my EOS 3 2 years back.
Rebel is tough and light. Once I had the whole camera drenched with water in a storm that dumped an inch of water in an hour. I though my camera will be usless. Well all I did was kept it in sun for a week and its functioning well! No problems at all.

Rebel may not have all the bells and whistles that a professional camera might havet but it does a very good job.
Invest in a good lens also with the camera this will be useful to get some awesome photos.

great 2003-02-15
I started to use this camera the day I recieved it and it works great. The pictures that I took with it were so clear and sharp. I especially like how easy it is to use. What I liked the most was that I didn't have to pay a lot to get a great camera. Plus it came with all those accessories. I would recommend this, or any other Canon product for everyone
I love it! 2003-02-14
This camera is great! This is my first SLR camera and I love it, it's so easy to use. You can say goodbye to those blurry pictures with this camera, I have had it since November 2002 and have not had one blurry or red eye picture since!
