This SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo IS the correct one for my camera. I thought Amazon had the lowest price ...about $25 vs. $35 in the store. However, when it arrived, I found out why the price was so low. This particular packaging does NOT come with the 'sleeve' so the memory stick will fit directly into the PC slot. I have to download my photos using the USB cord that came with the camera.

Cheapest price I found. In a pinch had to purchase a 1GB card locally and paid almost same price for that one that I paid for these two, including shipping! And that one was on sale!! Can't beat that deal. After having problems with memory cards, though I know 2GB and up cards are available, I prefer to use the smaller size, so if it malfunctions I still have a backup or two. Just a personal preference.

I got this memory card for my girlfriends new Sony Camera. It works great. No lost pictures. It comes with an adapter so it plugs into a card reader. The card itself will not plug in, but that's why it ships with the adapter! Anyhow, great card. No noticeable time lag to take pictures sequentially, but then I didn't put it through the tests...she did. I played with it a bit and didn't notice a long time lag. The pictures came out great as expected. We did format the card with the camera prior to use.

I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-P100, it was given to me without any cords or accessories. Considering it was a better camera than my own (while not bad, was only a 3.1), I figure I should go ahead and buy what I need for the upgrade. I'm very skeptical about what I buy, and I researched alot about the format and what kind of cards to use. Having only been familiar with SD before hand. I decided to go ahead and give this a try. Can't beat the price, and I never had a problem with Sandisk before. I recieved the product roughly 2 days after ordering it using standard shipping. I tested out the video, and pictures which are so far so good. Since I don't have the cords, I bought a card reader (the IOGEAR for $10) which also works fine. I have no problem going from the adapter to the reader. I can take approx 400 pictures, and 45 minutes worth a video. Not much else to say, so hope this helps.

I used my duo for 4 months or so and then one day everything on it got magically erased. When I tried to save new things to it, I got errors that it didn't exist. Beware of Mail-in Rebate Hoax 2006-11-21
The card works as advertised but SanDisk does not send in Mail-in-Rebate. Even though I mailed it in with the UPC Barcode, SanDisk sent me a post card stating that I needed to resubmit it with the barcode. How can I resubmit when they already have the barcode?

In my experience with SanDisk, I got rebate back on one of two cards that I submitted - so you get mail-in rebate 50% of the time with SanDisk. I think mail-in-rebate is a big hoax perpetrated by these companies. Don't trust it!

What to Consider... 2006-10-18
When I buy flash memory, I consider price, speed, manufacturer and vendor. I got this particular memory stick for a SonyEricsson w810i phone. I paid extra to get it from Amazon (no they don't always have the best price). This way I am confident that I can return it if I got the wrong one or have a problem with it.

The card works fine in my phone, and since I have a USB cable that hooks up to the phone, I don't have to be concerned about removing the card to use a card reader. I have not yet experienced any problems with Sandisk memory products.

I am told that the Sandisk sticks are faster than Sony's, but I have no way to confirm this, nor do I know if my phone (mp3 player, camera) is able to take advantage of faster speeds. The longest process is transferring music to the phone, and I wasn't in a hurry anyway.

This stick comes with an adapter to use with the older memory stick format, so I can use the 128mb stick that I replaced in my Sony Camcorder (which had a 4mb stick in it. No, it's not a typo. It's actually a 4 megabyte memory stick).

I have a Sony Cybershot DSCP-100, I love the camera and use it for taking SCUBA Diving pictures. I bought this memorystick duo to use for that purpose, I can take up to 45 minutes of video or close to 400 pictures on highest quality setting. The memorystick comes with an adapter so you can use it in full size memory stick applications as I do in the camera, or you can use this without the adapter for PSP, and PDA or cell phones! The price couldn't be beat anywhere else and I received the shipment within a week at my FPO mailbox on base here in Japan. If you want a great deal pick one up, I may even buy one more for when I travel so I don't have to take my laptop with me to download and reformat the card, at this price I can afford it!

Recently bought a DSC-H2 Sony camera. Although it was apparently compatible, it actually isn't. Sandisk people blame the camera and provide awful customer support. Furthermore, you only know it ain't compatible since when inserting it, the camera asks to insert the stick again. Buy the Sony stick and it'll work fine. Worth the extra bucks.

After reading the reviews I dove in and bought the Sandisk 1 GIG card for my PSP. The memory stick works like a champ, I will be buying another and then I'll wait for the larger capacity sticks to come down in price some before I get one of them- Sony is touting 4 and 8 Gig cards coming soon. Each will probably cost as much or more than the PSP. But the price on this 1 gig card is excellent.

So, if your looking for some more storage for your PSP, look no furthur than this Sandisk card. It's speedy and will work without issues on the PSP.

I bought this for my new Sony DSC-W7 digital camera and works great. No problems whatsoever. I preferred this over the regular MS Pro due to the forward compatibility. If I buy any other gadget in future which would only use MS Pro Duo, then this will be my insurance.

One thing I was hoping is this would work with my Sony WideScreen HD TV I bought 3 years ago. However, it doesn't. I think it's a problem with the TV (may be it doesn't support MS Pro). Any way, keep this in mind in case you want to use it with an old TV as well.

I bought this for my PSP as well and I don't really have much to say anything about it. The only thing you normally tell people in reviews is why NOT to buy something, well there is no reason NOT to buy this product. It works great, it hold 956 (roughly) MB of space, thats alot of songs, game saves, and/or movies for your PSP. I would definately recommend this product.


*Note: Depending on compression it may only hold one movie, so if you're looking to hold a DVD library, buy a bigger stick

SanDisk Pro Duo Media is not compatible with my SanDisk 6in1 reader 2006-02-14
The card reader will not recognize the media. I updated the firmware. Still no luck. Thought I had a defective product (SanDisk Pro Duo), so I exchanged it for a new one. Still no recognition. I can upload data from it if I put it in the camera and use the Sync Cord, but this is a pain.
The problem has something to do with the existing formatting of the card, however I was unable to reformat the card. It seems to be inaccessible. If you know how to get around this, by all means, buy it (and let me know too). If not a guru, buy Sony.
This card has problems when used in PSP 2006-01-03
Originally, this card work fine and held numerous MP3 and video files for my PSP, playback was also fine. However, one day it simply failed when I turned on my PSP and all data was lost and the card cannot be read by my or any other PSP's, not an uncommon problem with this card I've since found out. As I'd had the card for over 30 days, Amazon cannot replace it as it's against their returns policy. Just a warning.

I've owned my psp for about 6 months now and I was getting tired of only playing games and using the web browser. I wanted to try and copy a DVD movie onto my psp. In order to do so you need at at least a 512 mb card if not more. I purchased this 1 GB San Disk version at first skeptickle thinking that I may have wanted to get the sony kind. After purchasing this and getting movies on it very easily, I found out that Sony pays San Disk to make Sony's "Brand" memorysticks and also that all San Disks memorysticks and duos had much higher ratings! So, If you are deciding on which brand to buy, I reccomend going with San Disk!

I was not expecting this when i got it. I bought another 1g begore and it seemed to be made for the PSP but this one seems to be made for cameras. It still works tho, i have yet to find problems with it.

Pro Duo is good, has good memory, its much useful specially if you have to go for some occassion when lots of pictures needed without deleting, I dont prefer to buy 512mb card. I think if you take ultra pro duo that much faster and quick pictures than pro duo alone.

The following info is regarding PSP compatibility (as stated "compatible with PSP" on the package)

First, I've used the card for not any longer than a few minutes, and it completely died during a data transfer of music... at about 100MB into the transfer...

2nd, tried reading/using card on 2 separate PCs, with 2 separate memory card readers... neither would read the card, and windows xp pro would just freeze up trying to access the card (pulling the card out of the reader would unfreeze windows explorer)

3rd... the packaging clearly states "PSP Compatible"... now... if if that was true... why would SanDisk also sell the "Memory Stick Pro Duo Gaming 1GB" for 50% more $ than this one?

answer: because the "Gaming" version is better quality, and hence won't crap out while using it in your PSP... and in fact, it's the ONLY memory that is TRULY compatible with the PSP...

I'm sure Sandisk knows about this issue, and it goes to show the exaggerated use of "COMPATIBLE" ... yeah... sure it's compatible... compatible for only about 9% of the stick's full capacity...

I really think this item is really good for it's price. I am using it for both my PSP and Digital Camera and for both the memory card work with no problem. Around where I live the 1GB cards for the PSP are from $130 to $150 which doesnt compare to this price.

I really recommend this item for someone who wants it for use with either/both Digital Cameras and PSP's.

This is the coolest of all flash cards. Its high capacity and flexibility (Memory Stick DUO and memory stick devices-with adaptor) makes it my favorite. I use it in my 7MP Sony Digicam, and also store MP4 video to watch movies on my PSP. I can store 4 movies at a time, plus still slideshows, plus save game data, plus a few mp3 songs. I bought this for my psp, and it's been great for that. I can fit tons of music and video on it and watch untill my eyes bleed. The only disappointment is that while using the adaptor to make it larger like the old memory stick pro, is that it doesn't work with my sony digital camcorder.. the stupid thing can't seem to handle to capacity. Sony, why are you trying to make me neurotic? But this stick is good and does what it does.

It transfers data faster than a regular sony 1gb stick, the difference is not noticeable at first but when you start to download anime or movies into the stick, the data transfer is quicker. Plus its a bit cheaper than the sony product.

Relatively quick for games. Would like to try the Ultra to see what the difference is when watching movies on the PSP but it seems to work fine. If you try to fit 2 movies on the card there seems to be a big drop in visual quality of the movie.
Scan Disk Media - Dont Trust It 2005-08-28
This media has had major problems, causing me to spend the money for Sony authentic media and discard this crap. It failed to safely store the pictures. Several media readers I have tried wont read what is written on it properly. The Sony camera I used it in fails to recognize everything on it, and we know its highly unlikely that the camera is defective over a generic piece of media. Ill never trust Scan Disk with my photos again!!!

Purchased for transfering movies and pictures from the PC to the PSP and viewing them on the the PSP. I'm using NERO to compress and transfer. So far no problems. Would rather have 2 or more gig, but the 2 gig is not reasonably priced. For what you get this is a great deal. The only problem down the road might be loosing them because them because they are so small.

Sandisk's 1gb pro duo stick is basically the best way to go for all your psp storage needs. It has tons of space (949mb after formating) for your video clips, mp3s, pictures, save files, etc. Obviously, since it's so small it isn't very hard to break it or misplace it. However, you'll most likely be keeping it in your psp all the time, seeing as how you can put just about all your stuff in it. File transfer rate is fast, just like all the other sandisk pro duos, so you won't have to wait long to send your files back and forth (Even huge files over 100mb don't take very long). All around, I have to say that this is the best pro duo stick around -and at it's current price it's very affordable. Until they make a higher capacity stick at a good price, this is the one to get.
A necessity for your PSP 2005-08-12
Ok. First I must admit that this was not the product I considered at the first place. Amazon has a Sony 1G MS Pro Duo selling cheaper than this but too bad it was "in stock soon" for a few months since I put my eyes on it. I couldn't wait this long to expand my PSP.

So far, it's getting along well with the PSP and indeed a solid piece of storage media. Enough room for you to do a lot of things with your PSP.

Bottom line, if you tired of waiting for Sony, get this.

I bought mine to have some extra space for my PSP, since a 256MB stick wasn't cutting it. The 1 gig stick is perfect, as I could fit a whole 2 hour movie, plus about 100 songs, perfect for commuting to work, and for watching movies while at work (I'm not exactly the busiest guy in the world.) A great buy. The Sony one is 5 bucks cheaper, but is never in stock. You could always order and pray for that one, but this one works perfectly and will be shipped immediately.

i got this little monster for use with my fantastic sony psp. what can i say? it fit in the slot, i formatted it using the psp's system settings and it's been absolutely glitch-free. both of my mac's have had no trouble recognizing it in a card reader and i loooooove the amount of mov... er, i mean "data" it can hold. yeah, lots of data.

Mine works just fine. Make sure you format it in PSP before using it in a card reader. I also read in forums that very few cards dont work after some amount of data is written. When you get your new card just put as much data on it until the card is full. If there are problems Sandisk will exchange the card under its 5 year warranty.

this is THE product to buy for your PSP especially if ur going to travel abroad in a few days like myself. this would actualyl be my first time looking forward for the plane ride, now that i have so many things to do w/ my psp. ive already compressed 2movies (trying for the 3rd) and also added some extra "things".

1gb around here costs OVER 118$ n more w/ tax, so 99.99 is the best deal one could ever find(w/ no taxx!!! or at least mine was).

if ur very cheap n patient, i certainly dont recommend waiting for the sony 1gb (which is selling for a whooping $5 cheaper) since who knows when anyone will receive that(i hear people have been waiting for since april and yet they still dont have one). Also to top it off, somewhere on the web, someone compared the speed of a sandisk 1gb and a sony 1gb. and by conclusion (with graphs using different file size transfers)it actually showed that sandisk was WAY better/faster than Sony. Fortunately i saw this after i received my purchase so it boosted my euphoria towards my good judgement. also, it fits movies and music with ease; though u got a keep in mind that the battery wont last tooo long, so remember to stay near an outlet, or carry n xtra pack. oh and for those whose curious bout the "flaws" the other reviews mentioned, dont bother, you would have to try really hard for that to happen, cuz mine works like a charm.

overall, 1gb is VERY useful towards a long trip (visibly and coherently). one product for sure you wont regret!! (unless your looking into buying a 2gb....and many batteries for that!)

I've just received my 1GB Memory Stick Duo for my PSP recently, and I have to say that this is an awesome piece of work. When I saw it behind my front door, I immediately took it out and stuck it in my PSP and formatted it. I have a movie on here, a lot of MP3s, some homebrew applications, and I still have a lot of space to add more things. I recommend this over a 512 or anything lower because those simply aren't enough, especially if you want to use your PSP to the fullest.

I bought this item specifically for my PSP. But it was not compatible even though on the front of the package it said "PSP COMPATIBLE" I was pretty pissed because after I inserted it into the memory stick slot, some errors started to occur when I tried to copy information from my old 32mb memory stick onto my new 1 gig. It started to freeze and then I couldn't add or delete files from my psp. So I called in Sandisk and THEY SAID "Please check with Sony because some of the 1 gigs are not working with the PSP" So I thought to myself.. hrmm maybe false advertisement? YES. I am not some lamer that goes on giving bad reviews on products I do not have. I can assure you I have a working 1.5 US PSP and I too am trying to run homebrew files. But how can you run homebrew when you can't even copy files ONTO the PSP? Definite waste. I would NOT recommend this to anyone purchasing this only for their PSP.

Even though the front of the cover says PSP Compatible, I've called Sandisk and they've said "check with sony for firmware updates because the 1.0 gigs have a problem with the psp" so I've though.. false advertisement? what? don't get this for your PSP. doesn't work and freezes up after I tried putting my files from my 32mb card over to my new 1.0gig. My psp version is 1.50 and none of the files can damage my psp. They've all worked with my 32mb and it should have worked since many reviews online states Sandisk is better than Sony. Maybe Sony got jealous? Who knows. Do NOT buy this if you are buying it for a psp.

Hello, I recenly ordered the Sony MSX-M1GS (black) Card then after waiting 2 months and card still had not been shipped I ordered the SanDisk Version. The card was fine at first I was able to use it in my digital camera and take photos, view in PSP, and so on. It also let me playback videos I converted for the PSP. But the problem started when I tried placing purchased music from Sony's Connect Music Store using SonicStage. It let me transfer music perfectly when I used the included 32MB card it would let me place purchased music and other ripped music. on the 32MB card it also let me place both ATRAC(3) and Mp3 files. But on the 1GB it won't let me played the protected music even though it states MagicGate supported! And if i try to copy regular (CD ripped) music over with the program it wont compress it using ATRAC, instead just dumps the large mp3s right into the MUSIC Folder. Don't get this card unless you don't care about your music!

Sandisk not a bad brand, however this model of memory stick PRO DUO just not competible with the Sony PSP. I tried copy files and mp3 into my PSP on the day i received it. and it just dead after 100+MB, I couldnt even format it or got it recognized by my psp or PC. I returned it and got a replacement from Amazon ( Great Customer Service ). Same problem with the replacement too. I believe not just me have this problem with this memory stick PRO DUO. Go and get the Gaming version if you need that for your PSP. it work great with the Gaming model. Dont try give yourself a try just because of the price ( it dropping because of that ), I sure you will ended up paying more maney or shipping to order the model for PSP Gaming one.

I bought this card for my new Sony DSC-M1 (great camera!).
It lasted about a week before it locked up with several photos and a few video clips while I was on vacation.
SanDisk has a 5 year warranty but it only applies if you made your purchase thru an authorized re-seller. Make sure you are getting it from a authorized re-seller if you do purchase this memory. Now I have to buy another one, and you can bet I will stick with a Sony card. You get what you pay for.

To answer the other comment/reviewer, a PSP is the Sony Playstation Portable. They were released here in the USA in March 2005. It was released in Japan late 2004. Not sure about the rest of the world. The PSP uses memory stick duo media for a variety of purposes, most noteably video, music, and game data.

As far as the product, Sandisk products have been great and I've never seen any compatibility issues with Sandisk versus Sony media, so go for the best price. However, if you have a digital camera that supports high speed transfers, you might want to get the Red Sony High Speed since it supports that high speed transfers. To my knowledge, only Sony, not Sandisk, makes the high speed transfer version. However, from what I understand for PSP usage, you do not need the high speed; although, you can use the high speed in a PSP from what I've read. It could make transfers using a card reader quicker even if not the actual accesses with the PSP.

This is just the thing you need to get the most out of your PSP. I already have quite a few videos and mp3's on my 1GB PSP memory stick pro duo and their is still room for more! It's worth every penny. The 512MB is around 80 bucks, so fo just 40 more dollars save some cash and get twice the size. You won't regret it.

It's the perfect stick. It's the same as the special "Yellow" one, but it's cheaper, and comes with an adapter. You have to use the adapter with most memory card readers, since they don't usually read the memory stick duo sized chips. But I've put it into 3 seperate readers, and they all worked. I have not tried this chip in my digital camera which takes Memory Stick Pro media (the larger one) but Sony says it should work.

A previous reviewers said it was incompatible, but Sony says it will work in any device which supports Memory Stick Pro or Memory Stick Pro Duo. It is incompatible with Memory Stick devices (without the Pro or Duo in their names).

Yes it is a great bargain for the MB versus dollars, but it is not 100% compatible with all Pro-devices. Unable to download or move files via the MemoryStick Pro slot on the Vaio Sony computer. The only way I can download is to have the memory-stick in a device such as PSP or camera and then move the files via USB. Not an efficient way nor convenient way since it would be easier to use the memory-stick slot. What is the slot for anyway then? It works with all my other memory sticks, but not his one. Manufacturer (SanDisk) not any help at this time and too costly to send back.
