I recently got a new sony digital camera which comes with a 16mb memory stick. It is obvious that I need another memory stick to hold more pix. I had trouble deciding how much mb I need that would hold lots of pix and at a reasonable price. As many can see, the 256mb is way more expensive than 128mb. But the 256mb holds more space?! Well, after much inspection and reading all the reviews from the customers, I've decided to stick with 128mb because I do not want to deal with flicking the little switch to access the second part of the memory stick. It turns out that the 128mb works out perfectly for me. Just a big picture for those of you who are new at these techonology gadgets as me, a 128mb memory stick would hold about 82 picutres on the automatic setting in the camera ( I have a sony DSC-P72) Of course, you can always change the setting to landscape mode, moonlight mode etc that will hold about 149 pictures for you.
Oh, and wait for the great amazon deal that sells this for only $32 and free shipping. make sure it is from Amazon, not office depot or J&R bc they charge shipping and tax. This deal doesnt appear often, so you just keep checking the website, you'll get that deal.

The Lexar 128 mb memory stick matches up in most cases to the Sony memory stick that originally came with my camera, but clearly fails in low light or very bright situations. I've reverted to buying a larger Sony memory stick....

I bought this camera to complement my Sony DSC-P32 purchase, which came with a 16MB memory stick. I was debating whether or not a Sony memory stick would be "more compatible" with my Sony camera. Well, I took the advice of numerous techie friends who assured me that this was not the case. It turns out that it makes absolutely no sense to pay even a dollar more for the Sony name over Lexar. Lexar is a highly regarded and trusted name in memory stick media. This memory stick has worked flawlessly for me and from many others who recommended this to me. Very highly recommended manufacturer!

This card has performed well and there are some definite cash savings in buying the non-Sony media. I have heard the 256mb Lexar cards are something to stay away from, but the 128 is just as good as the Sony cards.

I am using 128MB Lexar memory sticks in a Sony DSC-P32 digital camera. I haven't had any issues or problems with this media. They fit the camera perfectly and perform without a hitch!

I also purchased the Lexar Memory Stick Reader and had no problems with the installation or performance of this item. It also reads the 16MB Sony stick that came with my camera without any problem.

Okay, here's the dish - for one thing, yours truly here is a Sony Snob. Yes, and proud of it. When I buy, I usually buy Sony and stick with it. However, I am happy to report that this Lexar Media Stick is just as good as its Sony counterpart. I have had no problems or errors, and the price makes this a great opportunity purchase. In this case, there's no need to spend extra money on the Sony Brand Memory Stick - This Lexar is great and does the trick. You won't notice a difference between its performance and that of its higher priced Sony brand issue. I recommend this item wholeheartedly and have purchased it myself (I use it with a Sony CyberShot P52).

This Lexar Memory Stick works as expected in a Sony digital camera after hundreds of pictures. I also used in a 4-in-1 PCMCIA adapter from Sandisk, to work as removable drive in a notebook, and found no problems whatsoever. Recommended.

I own two 128MB memory stick from Lexar. I use it in my Sony DSC-P72 camera and it works just fine. I have been using my digital camera with the Lexar memory stick for two months now, and I have had no problems storing, transferring, or erasing data. The form, fit, and function are the same as the 16mb Sony memory stick that was included with the camera, only with more available memory. I recently took a vacation where I almost filled up both 128 mb memory sticks and had no problems downloading from the camera to a computer using USB port. It took about 3 minutes to transfer all the pictures on a full 128 mb memory stick to the computer hard drive, although the computer, and operating system may have some affect on the transfer rate. Not as fast as transfers from a 52x CD-Rom, but adequate.

Will not "lock" in place in Sony camera 2003-07-01

I purchased the Lexar 128MB memory stick and was disappointed that it will not lock in place in the Sony DSC-P1 digital camera, it just pops back out so the door to the memory/battery compartment cannot be closed. I have 2 Sony memory sticks that work fine. The few dollars saved over Sony brand memory were not worth not having enough memory to take photos at family wedding when discovering the new memory stick would not stay in the camera.

I purchased a Sony 128 MB memory stick and the Lexar 128 MB memory stick in the same order to compare. Function appears to be the same; however, the Lexar simply does not feel as "sturdy", and does not come with a case and labels like the Sony brand product. Minor differences, I know, but worth noting. Also, I have not experienced any problem with reading the memory stick in my Sony laptop or in my SanDisk 6-in-1 card reader.

Only 90 Day WARRANTY 2003-06-15

I have just received this product and noticed it only has a limited 90 day warranty. This is very unusual because the other Lexar 128mb memory I have looked at or purchased has a 5 year warranty. Why the short warranty? Does this product have known defects? Before purchase, read the fine print.

The Lexar memory sticks work just as well as Sony's, but at a much lower price. The only bad thing is that they don't currently come in anything larger than 128MB. Other than that these are a great deal.

We have both Sony and the Lexar memory sticks for our Sony Cybershot DSC P7. We haven't had any problems with the Lexar brand and the transfer time is about the same. As an earlier reviewer stated the price is about the only difference.

I bought this memory stick for my Sony Digital Camera and in summary it works great. Normally I like to go for Sony products but because of the huge price difference I thought I will give it a try and so far I have had no problems whatsoever. I also have a Sony Memory stick that came along with the camera and I cannot tell the difference between the two. However, to be honest I have not actually tried comparing the two products for the read and write times or the time to transfer the images from the stick to the computer, so there well might be a difference.

Works great just like the original memory stick. I gave it 4 stars because my previous Lexar 128 MB memory stick (bought 3 months ago) came with 5 years of warranty, this one comes with a 90 day warranty. I don't know why Lexar cut back on warranty. Also Lexar is kind of slow in processing their mail in rebates (through rebatesHQ), I sent the rebate request in January and still waiting to receive it. Other than the warranty and rebate processing time, everything is good.

I have bought two of Lexar Memory Sticks and they work perfectly. I use them both with the Clie PDA and with my Cybershot camera, and at home I use a Sandisk MS/CF reader.

Why spend money on the Sony Memory Sticks at twice the price? These Lexar Media units are excellent, I have been using them for three months now without a problem. More significantly, the Sony Memory Sticks are usually always out of stock at stores or at Amazon partner stores. Buy these, they are cheaper and work just fine.

I recently bought a Sony DSC-71 digital camera, which came with a Sony Memory Stick of 16 MB. I was thinking about upgrading right away to something larger, like a 64 MB and was looking at prices. Then I found this one, 128 MB and was cheaper than the Sony, and the reviews were mostly positive.
I decided to try it and haven't regret it. I am currently using that with my digital camera, and works perfect...I don't even think that's not Sony.
I'd recommend it to anyone considering to buy a Sony Memory Stick. It's cheaper, and does the same job, at least in my case and what I need it for.

Lexar Media 128 MB Memory Stick 2003-01-15

There is little that I can offer about this little wonder that most people don't already know, except for the price. I read the reviews for the Sony DSC-S85 Digital camera that suggested upgrading instantly to at least 128 MB of memory, and so I did. And I am glad I did because we just celebrated my daughter's 5th Birthday and I used my new camera with the Lexar 128 MB Memory Stick to record the MPEG of a room full of precious children singing Happy Birthday.

Buy the memory, you WILL need it to get the most out of your digital camera.

Lexar has always been the Cadillac of 3rd party memory as far as I am concerned. Yes, not all manufacturers are created equal! (See how you feel when you discover the mfgr. "Compatibility List" for your application!!) I've used their CF, SM and now MS (Memory Stick) memory with nary a problem over the years. You might pay a premium for a high quality product, but in this case you get what you pay for.

What is especially interesting with MS, is they are competing with the "creator" of the format - Sony. Lexar is cheaper than Sony. Most people reading this will be asking "Should I just play it safe and buy Sony for more $$$??" The only difference I've found is that Lexar doesn't support their new proprietary music format - something that limits what you can do with your own music. Hardly an advance, if you ask me!

The ... price was excellent....and was even better with a ...rebate ...you cannot beat the price and it is identical to the Sony brand Memory Stick. Now, I have tons of photos on the Lexar Memory Stick and keep it nicely tucked away when I'm not using it inside the leather case for my Sony Clie 615T leather (which I got at ebcases.com). Sony and SanDisk Memory Stick are both made in Japan, and they seem to both have the same packaging quality. Lexar on the other hand is made in Singapore and packaging quality seems to be lower than Sony's. Have you compared toys made from Japan and those made from China? Anyway, this has a 5 year warranty and I was able to easily speak with a live customer service representative at Lexar.

This Memory Stick is a better buy than the OEM Sony item and I have found it fully compatible with my Sony Vaio PCG-GR390 (laptop). No complaints. I use it with a Sony DSC-S85 camera.

Initially when I saw this product I was thinking whether to buy Memory sticks on brands other than Sony. I just had my Sony Clie and I wanted to get the largest possible memory sticks available. Lexar sells their sticks about half the price of Sony. So I bought it (actually a few), and I have absolutely no problems with it. No files have been lost on the stick (I have used it for more than half a year), and the access speed is OK too. Packaging is excellent, takes forever to rip it open though :p With this price it is definitely worth while.

-1 Star for really Spartan packaging, the stick almost slipped out of the box!! Wanted to make sure it worked, so plugged it in and it worked fine. Did not feel a time lag due to the high capacity - had heard someone say something like that.

It will be a while before I can fill this stick up, will update review if something untoward happens. So far, incredible deal and works just fine.

Lexar Media MS128-132 128 MB Memory Stick 2002-10-02

At first I thought it was a good deal. However, within a couple weeks of receiving and using the memory stick, I started having problems. A "formatting error" appeared on the screen of my camera when my daughter, who is a photographer, was using it. When she returned it to me, the "error" message was gone. Then, days later the "formatting error" message re-appeared when I went to use it. I took the camera and memory stick to Best Buy to see if they could figure out what the problem was. They eventually found that it was a defective memory stick. ... Needless to say, I'm VERY disappointed!

Beware: Not compatible with Dazzle Memory Stick Readers 2002-10-01

This stick worked fine in my digital camera (Sony DSC-P71), but was incompatible with my memory-stick reader (Dazzle USB).
As far as I know, Lexar is trying to work a solution, but hasn't come up with one yet.

It's way cheaper than the original Memory sticks, and it works flawlessly. I use it with a Sony Clié NR70V handheld, and there has been no problem. 128 Mb was enough space to store 2 video clips, 8 mp3 files, more than 200 pictures and there was still some space left for software.

I purchased this with my SONY P9 digital camera. It works fine with the camera. However, it does not work with the memory stick slot on my SONY VAIO (RX-750) computer. The memory stick from SONY works without any problem. I even called LEXAR support. They insist that their memory stick is fully compatible and told me that I should call SONY to find out where the computer is compatible with LEXAR memory stick!

I am very glad that I bought this memory stick because the 8mb memory stick that came with my camera was a big laugh. Fortunately I had a 32mb memory stick from the camera I was upgrading from...but still that could only hold 20 shots at maximum resolution. Now with the 128mb memory stick, I can get a bit over 80 shots at max resolution (3.3 megapixel).

HOWEVER; be advised that if you are upgrading from a 32 to 128 which is 4 times the storage amount, it will take longer to format, and you will notice more delay insofar as image writing and image previewing (ie. after taking a shot and going to the preview mode to see the last picture you took, it was almost instantaneous with the 32mb memory stick, but now with the 128mb stick, you click on the preview mode and nothing happens until after about 1-2 seconds, then you get the preview...). If you are upgrading from a 64mb stick, the delay probably won't be as noticeable. This is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars, I was hoping for the same quick performance as my 32mb stick...so it was a little bit of a let-down. Will I return it? No way, this is still the best buy for a memory stick!

I purchased this product almost a year ago when I purchased my Sony digital camera. At the time, the Sony Memory Stick was...more than the Lexar. I figured that I would give the Lexar a try for that big of a difference in price. I have never been happier. I have two Sony memory sticks(8 mb) and the Lexar(8 mb). I have never even noticed a difference in performance. For anybody who is hesitant about purchasing this product, it is definately worth the price!!! It is not worth the upcharge that Sony puts on theirs just simply because of the name that is on it.

My experience with these same write tests on CompacFlash & SmartMedia cards, which show rather marked differences from brand to brand but little variance among cards from the same manufacturer, indeed suggests that Lexar is the original manufacturer for Sony. Think of the Lexar then as an off-label or generic equivalent to the Sony, made on the same assembly line but offered at a lower price.

I lover the extra space this 128MB stick gives me. I take a lot of pictures and have used my Sony DCR PC-110 all over the world. I have never had trouble with a Memory stick yet... and I say this after having taken it to rainforests, deserts, caves, helicopters, jungles, and major cities everywhere.
