The super-wide angle's useful range of view can be conveniently utilized by simply rotating the smooth zoom ring.SLD (Special Low Dispersion) Glass is used for effective compensation of color aberration. Two pieces of molded glass aspherical lens elements offer excellent correction for distortion as well as all types of aberration. It is an ideal lens for Digital SLR Cameras as well as film SLR cameras.HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) provides quiet, high-speed autofocus shooting, as well as full-time manual focus. It is easy to revert to Manual Focus by simply turning the focusing ring and overriding the AF.An inner focus system provides high performance and convenience. The non-rotating lens barrel perfectly suits the matched petal shaped lens hood.

good lens that that didn't cost a arm & a leg. gets the job done.

One of my most used lenses. 2008-07-09
I bought this lens new on a whim as the price was too good to pass up. I now use this lens in most of my photography, automobile racing, nature and some landscape. A favorite next to my 28-135mm Canon. I really like the quality of Sigma lenses for my Canon 20Ds.

This is a great lens. I really have nothing to add here from what the guys before e said. All I want to say is I picked this up for $280, right here on Amazon. Don't let this joker get you for $937. What a joke. You could get the Canon for $400 less than that.

Long story short, avoid this lens. I went through two copies in two weeks. Both had focus errors on my Mark IIn and my brother 40D. Sorry, just not worth it.
