Good product but overpriced 2008-10-20
Unlike most of the other reviews, I think this case is pretty cool. I don't feel that the Mino Flip is hard to get in the case. It should be a fairly snug fit to protect the device. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I do believe it is overpriced. It looks more like a $5 case than a $15 case. The case that came with the Flip gives no protection if dropped but this one does. I will keep the case. I do love my Flip Camcorder!!
Not A Quick Draw Pouch 2008-10-13
The pouch fits the camera very snugly...maybe too snugly. It takes me a few minutes to get it into the pouch, and a few to get it out. Maybe if the pouch stretches out it will be more useful for on-the-go usage. I need something that protects but allows me to quickly pull the camera out, not struggle with it and possible miss what I wanted to video.

Actually I got this case for free when I ordered my flip ultra. I like the neoprene material. It it a tight fit around the camera, but I like that. I put my flip in upside down so that the strap on the camera can be put out of the opening of the case and I can still use the strap around my wrist. I did rate it 3 stars because the white stripe on the case started to peel off immediately.

I would have given this no stars but the program won't let me. What the pictures don't show is a flimsy piece of material which is more of a glove than pouch or case. It is absolutely no protection if that is what you look for, cannot be hung on a belt and the camera does not go in easily. The top of the pouch overlaps the bottom and if you wanted quick access for a quick video shot, forget it. Not worth a thing and I got it free as a promotion. Should have taken the cables when offered instead.

Like many others reviewer, I found better quality and less expensive options in my local Target. $10 bucks gets you varieyt of better quality and many more options. This pouch feels cheap and flimsy and the included ring broke before we could get it on the tab. Save money and your sanity and get soemting better.
Great camera with one exception 2008-09-08
Bought a flip camera for some marketing videos. All works well, as described with one exception. The zoom feature is pretty much useless. I thought I had a defective unit so I sent a clip to the company for review. I was surprised to learn that they felt there was "nothing exceptional" about the blurred video when in the zoom mode. The blurriness when fully zoomed makes the video worthless. So use it with out the zoom and it's great, still a good deal for the price. They should consider eliminating the zoom feature!

Not unlike buying new clothes...love the color, hate the fit. It was too tight to be comfortable! I managed to sqeeeeze the Flip camera into this case one time, and decided that it was far too much trouble for the cost. Returned it for a refund.

The Flip camera comes with an unpadded, soft pouch which doesn't offer much protection. A semi-hard, padded case with a flip top would be great (in case any designers are listening...)

Oh, how I wish I'd paid attention to other reviewers before I ordered this completely useless object! If I could give it zero stars or minus stars, I would. It's not so much the flimsiness of the neoprene (though it is as thin/cheap as you can get) as it is the fact that it's plain old TOO SMALL, and was manufactured too small to begin with. Not a question of it fitting "snuggly" - you have to struggle for several minutes to stuff it into the case, and once you get it in there, no chance that you could ever whip the camera out in a hurry for a quick video. Almost anything you could buy in a Big Box store would be better than this, and maybe cheaper. An eyeglasses case would be better than this thing. So please - don't be suckered, like I was - don't waste your money. It isn't worth the hassle, after you pay the return postage, to send it back, so you're just out the money. Feh.

Very disappointed with the flip pouch. First of all , it is very difficult to put the camera in the pouch and also very hard to remove it. Maybe with time it is meant to stretch out making the process easier, however it is so cheap material wise ( should cost about five dollars) that it will probably tear before that happens . I was expecting something a little more substantial. Don't waste your money.
Yin and Yang 2008-07-17
This item shows what I like to call a "yin and yang relationship". There are good and bad qualities that balance it out to be a decent product.

The good: It does a good job of protecting the camera. There is also and attachable clip which makes the pouch and thusly the camera portable.

The bad: It is a bit of a hassle to get the camera into and out of the pouch. Also, should you have the wrist cord tied to the camera, it only gets in the way when storing it in the pouch.

So, due to the nearly equal good and bad, I've given this product 3 stars.
Good protection, but be careful 2008-07-14
The pouch provides good protection for the Flip, but there are a couple of drawbacks. First, it can be difficult to get the flip into the pouch. Second, the seams of the pouch have some kind of sticky adhesive in them which has transferred onto the camera. Overall, I would recommend it only if you are very clumsy and plan to drop it a lot.
Avoid the Flip Soft Pouch 2008-07-10
I recently bought the soft pouch to complete my Flip Mino purchase. I regret doing so because when I would retrieve the Flip from the soft pouch, the sides of the Flip were sticky with some kind of glue. It was difficult to clean off the Flip. After the fourth time, I gave up and returned to the cheap little covering that came with the Flip. Putting it in that pouch also removed the sticky glue that I just left on the Flip. Apparently, the friction eventually cleaned it off. Also the white stripes on the pouch began to peel off shortly after I began using the pouch. The stripes are a cheap touch.

Problem solved but I am out the money for the soft pouch which does not please me. Besides when I looked at the soft pouch, it wasn't worth the money anyway! Avoid this product!

This is a horrible product. The ring that it comes with can't hold on to anything, It fell off my belt loop three times and almost lost it down a four story stairwell. The material is second rate and hard to get the flip into and out of. Oh and the nifty stripes that decorate the outside, fell off the third day I had it. Your flip camera would be better off in your pocket with your keys and a water balloon. Really you'd be better off putting it into Ziploc bag!

Got this pouch thinking it would protect my new Flip. Unfortunately, it is so small and tight that it takes at least two hands just to insert or extract it from the pouch. It is nearly impossible for anyone with hands larger than a small child's to manipulate it over the camera. I always feel like I'm about to break the camera just trying to insert it into the silly pouch. In addition to being WAY overpriced, it is cheaply made - the color stripe already stretched and fell off of mine after only about 3 or 4 inserts and removals. The ring is also quite flimsy and I wouldn't depend on it securing your camera to anything.

This pouch is a simple protector for your Flip, but offers nothing in the way of storage for extra batteries, a strap, or even a lot of protection. I use the pouch when I'm putting the camcorder in my backpack and want it to have a little cushion against whatever else might be in there, but if I were looking for a standalone case I might go for something with a pocket and maybe even a strap.

Additionally, the racing stripe design started peeling off after the first time I put the camera in there. Not a big deal, but a bit disappointing.

This product is a pain-in-the-derriere to even attempt to use. It is WAY TOO difficult to pull over the Flip Ultra Camcorder. After several attempts which really tried my patience, I threw it in the trash and it now lives in the town dump of Thomaston, ME. Don't waste your money. Unknown to me, the Flip comes with a protective pouch that is just fine for this use.
Clip broke, lost camera 2008-06-03
My son used the clip on this pouch to hook it to his belt loop. The clip just fell apart one day while he was wearing it. He lost the camera and the pouch. He was left with half of the clip. With all the complaints this has received I can't beleive they are still selling it.
Cute but could be better designed 2008-06-01
The pouch was cute as promised as it matches the camera, but the camera must be tightly squeezed into the bottom. You are then expected to pull the top over the camera, but the top is stitched on both sides making this a bit difficult.

Once inside, the camera is well protected and can be attached securely to a belt loop or with the aluminum carabiner. Although aluminum is lightweight, it is also soft, which I noticed directly when trying to attach the carabiner to something. I felt like it was broken almost immediately. However I will still use it happily.

I like this case in terms of the protection (keeps water/dirt off of the camera, a little bit of padding, easy to clip to things), and it would be impossible for the camera to accidentally fall out, but it is also a little bit difficult to get the camera in and out of it.

This is the simplest camcorder ever. The only problem that i had with it is getting the built in software to work. We have a and XP operating system but we tried several times trying it and nothing happens. We tried it on Vista operating system and it did not work then we realized we had to down load the firmware from Theflip.com we tried it then after we downloaded the firmware and it works.


With this camcorder you can shoot videos at the push of a button and then flip out the USB arm to launch the built in software.You can edit, make, and share videos with the built in software. Email your videos to friends or family or upload direcly to Aol, You Tube, and My Space.


I uploaded two videos to You Tube and they are pretty awesome.


The most convenient thing about this camcorder is the flip out USB arm to plug right in to your computer.

I heard from other reviews that the item was a tight fit and they were not wrong. It's great for storing your flip, but if you're going to be using it a lot, it isn't that practical. Still, for only $15, it's not a bad buy. I'm glad I made the purchace.

Did not get a chance to see this product as the vendor could not deliver, informing me after repeated phone calls, that their delivery guys could not locate my address. It was the same address that amazon send me the flip camcorder but apparently the pouch guys couldn't do the same. Weird. Poor service and the amount that they have refunded is less than what I paid initally. I still don't know why that's the case, I am continuing to follow up with them ...the saga isn't over yet.

The foam pouch is not a quick on & off device. But will be good protection when carried in purse or bag. I thought the price a little high, and wonder how long it will last (wear & tear )wise. Another thing is if you have the small lanyard handle attached to the Flip, there is no place for it to go in the pouch unless you wad it up and stuff it in. I will use this pouch, but others should know its not real convenient.

You can find a better case for the Flip, and probably for less money. Try Walmart or Ebay. This one won't protect your Flip from impact and if you drop your Flip while it's wearing this, it's going to break. Also, it doesn't fit all that great; you have to really squash it in there.

I bought this in Dec 2007 for my son's Ultra Flip that he was getting for Christmas. After opening it, it was way too tight to fit the camera in. Instead he has stuck with the case the Ultra Flip came with for now until something better comes along. Since I couldn't return it without losing money on it, my sister took it as a case for her new 80G Zune. Maybe another alternative for it.

As thrilled as I am with my new Flip Ultra video camera, I am equally not thrilled with this poor excuse for a protective camera bag. It is poorly constructed and you are required to "push" the camera into the bag and then "pull" (hard) the other end over the camera. The ring to secure the bag to your belt or purse is extremely flimsy and I would not consider it reliable. I returned mine the next day after receiving it. I agree with the other reviewers who said that the drawstring bag that the camera comes with is MUCH better than this barely stitched together piece of neoprene.

It looks cute 'n all but it bites. Its so hard to get the camera in it that its not worth the hassle. Besides turns out the Flip comes w/its own little black velvet draw-string stachel type bag that works just fine. Don't waste your money.

I wouldn't buy this again...and recommend that you don't either. I thought it would be a velcro or snap pouch but it is more like a pillow slip...and a tight one at that. And, it's not like you can leave the camera in the case to use it. It's a buggar getting it in or out.

DON'T get this...unless it's thrown in FREE in some sort of offer, and then it would be good as a dust cover for storage or when the camera is in your purse.

I generally don't drop things, but I'm quite sure that if I kept this pouch, I'd drop my Flipvideo camera on occasion, trying to squeeze it into this tiny two-dimensional pouch. The camera comes with a drawstring pouch that is far more realistic than this thing. Why have a camcorder that's a breeze to use, and a pouch that isn't? I returned mine.

This is nothing more than a $4.95 piece of protection. Way overpriced on this item. It should have been included with the Ultra Camcorder which is difficult to get to work properly on my computer. I have to do work arounds. I have yet to be able to load their program that comes with the camera on a new XP pro computer with 2 gigs of ram and 3, 500 meg hard drives. Good final picture though for the price.

I really hate to write this but I feel I must....We purchased 5 Flip Ultra Camcorders for xmas to send out as gifts to family and friends....we included the Flip ASP1S Soft Pouch with each gift sent. Xmas day we received 5 separate phone calls telling us all that the soft pouch did not work well with the camcorders we sent. The pouch was too tight. The pouch scratched one of the camcorders. The pouch was not easy to use. The pouch was just a "pain"....the advice of all 5 gift receivers were the Camcorders were the BEST!! and the soft pouch was the WORSE!!!

This product is indeed a piece of junk. The "lid" doesn't really open up -- it is indeed a "pouch". The Flip doesn't fit inside. I only wish I had warned a friend before she purchased. I had read these reviews and stayed away from it. I am sure it will be sent back as it is totally unusable as a protective cover.

Instead look at a small camera bag or something. I bought one from Duluth Trading Company (small fire hose camera case) that is great! The Flip fits inside (with extra batteries) and is much safer than the pouch!
Hardest to use accessory ever... 2008-01-17
Wow, I've never had a carrying case that's as difficult to use as this, the first time I put the flip camera inside, it took me at least 3 minutes. In order to be a useful case, the time taken to take out/put away the camera should be on the order of 2 to 5 seconds. With a little practice, you can take the camera out in under 5 seconds, but be prepared to spend at least 10 to 15 seconds putting it back in. Instead of making me want to take the camera everywhere with me, this accessory actually makes me want to use it less for fear of having to put it back in its case. I think the $15 I spent on the case could easily have protected the case in the form of 2 singles and the $13 worth of batteries to be able to use the camera more often would have been much more helpful than this case. I would definitly recommend this case... to an enemy, but certainly not a friend.

The Flip soft pouch for the flip Camcorder was a waste of money for me. I bought three of them for 3 kids to go with their new flip camcorders. NONE of the kids have used them. They are difficult to get on & off the camera. You don't need....Camera comes with a little velour storage pouch which works fine.

OK here is my rant: I truly love my Flip Ultra. Period. But this "pouch" is another matter - it is more of a form fitting cover than a "pouch". Not so great for easy access to your Flip. Save your money unless you need a tight fitting cover.
Really bad design - definately avoid 2008-01-09
I love my Flip Video - great for casual movies of everyday or special events. But this case is the pits. It is not an average flip top case like it looks. Instead, you have to cram half the camera inside through a single gap/slit in the material and then stretch the other half over the rest of the camera. Furthermore, the case seems to strain to fit. I would avoid this case and either use the pouch that comes with the Flip or I have found the Timbuk2 Accessory Case (no, I am not a shill for Timbuk2) to work really well. It is primarily designed for an iPod, but it works great for my Flip. I gave this one star for the material and loop holder. You might think, how bad can a case be? That's what my mom thought when purchasing this for my xmas gift along with the Flip. Well, it's impossible to use. It is designed like a pillow sham as one reviewer mentioned. If they just didn't stitch along the top of the flap it would work fine. But the sides of the flap are stitched down the top of the case, creating a small hole to squeeze the Flip into, which can be done but is quite a struggle. Why would someone design such a wonderful product and not even make the case functionable. I considered removing the stitching myself and adding velcro, but why, for now the black pouch it comes with is fine until something better comes along. Don't waste your money having to ship this back to amazon once you order it, stay away.

I received this as a Christmas gift (from Amazon but with no gift receipt) and wish I could return it. The case is almost too small for the Flip Ultra and is very difficult to get the camera in and out of. The clip that accompanied the case- which I wanted to keep me from losing the camera- broke within days.

The "spandex" feel of the case is nice, yet it's very difficult to stretch the case to get the camera inside. Also, there's a camera pouch that comes with the ultra model.

This is a useless piece of crap. It doesn't provide any protections for the camera and I haven't found any other use for it either. This is made from cheap stretchy fabrice and the only good thing about it is that the color matches the camcorder. I'll have to keep looking for a good, protective camera case that can stand up to normal wear and tear.

This product is a waste of money. The picture makes it look like a nice velcro flap but it is a pain to put the Flip in and out. You'll definitely miss a good shot by trying to take the camera out. In my opinion it is definitely not worth the money.

I bought this for my 7 year-old daughter. Bright pink color, wipes clean. This stretches over the Ultra Flip perfectly. It is snug, as it should be, and protects the flip from very minor bumps and dirt. The ring that comes with the case looks too flimsy to rely on so I got a stronger ring.

This pouch is no good to use in that it takes a bit to get the camcorder out of it so if you need a quick shot you're out of luck. Also, the white plastic strips on the sides started peeling the moment I removed it from the case!

This product is not what I expected at all. It is terribly difficult to get the flip camera into the pouch first of all. I have three young kids and am usually in a hurry to put my camera away. It is impossible. I have had this for a week and a half and already the white stripes are peeling off. If I would have known that it was like this I wouldn't have even paid two dollars for it, let alone 15.
A Must For Any Flip Owner 2007-12-26
To go with my very favorable review of the Flip, I highly recommend getting the case to carry the Flip. Because it is made by the same company, the fit is great and it allows my daughter to carry the Flip wherever she has to go. Also, the fact that it comes in pink is a big plus at my house.

If I can give this case no stars, I will, (I can't. I have to give it a star). I agree with all the other dissatisfied reviewers. The FLIP is great, the case is a total waste of money. The ring that holds it to your belt loop, broke upon taking it out of the box. Attn. Amazon, I will be returning the case shortly!

This case was absolutely horrible...the whole thing is sewn shut to the point that there's a tiny little slit that you're supposed to squeeze the camera through. I can't imagine a more poorly designed case for this camera...

I got this case to match my orange Flip Ultra camcorder and I couldn't even get in and out quickly or easily. The case looks great, nicely styled but what they don't show you is the way it's constructed. The top flap doesn't fold back all the way and doesn't have a normal clasp - it's more of a pocket style design that requires too much wrangling to get the camcorder in and out of it. When I bring my flip with me, I should random video on the fly - from the pictures of this product, I was expecting something closer to an iPod case where I could just flip up the top flap and pull out my camera to film, boy, was I disappointed!

I returned this product because the Flip is designed to be easy and convenient to use and I think a case that houses it should be designed the same way.

Well after seeing the one star review I know my truth can only help. Let me start off saying this product is a waste of money. I bought the flip camera and it came with all you need. It already comes with a bag/carrying case for it and I must say it looks really cool, it doesn't allow any thing to pop out like the picture showed the USB device doing and even has room to spare. I don't see why you would buy this product unless it had feelings and got cold ha, ha, or u like wasting money and u just did it on this. Over all the flip camcorder comes with a cool carrying case already, the normal one, not ultra; I don't know if that one comes with it but I would go for the normal one, it records great and has better reviews. Fun and Elegant - Great Value. 2007-11-29
After I bought my Flip I was looking for a way to protect it. I saw some of the bad reviews and I wasn't sure if this product is going to be a problem. When I got the pouch it looked just like I thought it would. It's made of this soft material, a nice matching color and fun "sport stripes". It's not designed to be the big and bulky camcorder case that you get for your high-end camcorder. It's a portable, in your pocket, cover - and it does a great job at it.

Yes, it was a bit challenging to put it on for the first time but after an hour in the pouch it seem to have adapted to the camcorder and expand in size...

For the price it's a great solution!

The ASP1S is a great SMALL pouch, but description does NOT let you know it is exptreamly tight around the Flip Utra serries camcorder, very diffictult to get in and out of the pouch. Not recomended.

This product is a rip off. It IS hard to use, the camera only goes in after a struggle, It's cheaply made and I am returning mine today. I agree, the velvet pouch which comes with the recorder is preferable, or find a small pouch thing elsewhere. don't spend your money on this!!!!!

This pouch is really cheaply made, hard to use, and not worth the money at all. The velvet pouch that comes with your Flip is a far better carrier, and far, far easier to use. As another reviewer so aptly commented, this pouch is made like a neoprene pillow sham, so you have to try to squeeze your Flip into it. I couldn't even get mine in there without feeling as if I'd break it trying to do so. Honestly, this pouch should cost about $3.00 (it's that cheap), and even then I wouldn't want it knowing what I know now. Don't bother wasting your money. Better holders will be available soon, because the Flip itself is GREAT!

I got this with my Flip camera in a package [...]. Initially I thought it was quite impractical as it's very tight and hard to pull off when you need to film something quickly, but I realized that the brilliance of it is in indeed in the fact that it can remain on, and you just pull down the top of it and film away. It's a pity the printed white strip comes off when your 7 1/2 month old chews on it though...
What a disappointment 2007-11-01
It's too small, poorly designed, and almost imposable to use. I was stunned that the same folks that made the great little flip made this. It's not as useable as the bag that comes with the camera. If anyone finds a 3rd party case that works please let us know. This one is going back today.

I bought this to keep my Flip camcorder in, only the camera does not fit the pouch is way too small. The photo is deceptive it looks like there is a flap that opens up but the pouch is like a pillow sham no flap.

I ordered the flip camera and this pouch together. I received the camera first which comes with a drawstring velvet pouch that I didn't know about when I was ordering. I ordered this pouch and when it arrivedafter the camera I opened it and tried to put my camera in it was very difficult. The construction of the pouch is not a good design. I am returning it.
