| Product Description |
| Capturing the great moments in your life deserves the best performance. The GR-DF450 delivers. The ergonomic EZ grip design puts total control in the palm of your hand. But itâs not just the comfortable feel that makes the GR-DF450 a powerful performer. JVC's exclusive Low Light Plus incorporates two key technologies: The F1.2 Super Bright Lens obtains twice the light of an F1.8 lens assuring a bright picture with less noise even in less than desirable lighting conditions. And Three Dimensional Noise Reduction (3D NR) eliminates picture noise up to 30% in low light situations. Keep your subject in view outdoors with a 2.5 inch Clear LCD that reduces glare and reflections, and a built-in auto " Illumi-Light" for 1/10th the power consumption. Thereâs also a color viewfinder, Power-Linked Operation, Night Alive, and 700X Super Digital Zoom with Spline Interpolation. Record HG digital stills at up to 1024 x 768 to the SD/MMC card slot. There's also an accessory shoe and mic input with plug-in power. The GR-DF450 delivers high performance video. |

Another Lens Cap disaster
2008-07-07
|
| My GZ-MG21U HDD has same problem. Use very few times. Stopped working since last 3 months with Lens Cap Error. Sent it to JVC Center. They are asking $275 to fix. BEWARE before buying. Read reviews carefully. This looks to be widespread problem. |

What a pitty
2008-03-24
|
I read some reviews and thought...there are always some defective product in any batch and it is quite common that reviews seem to attract those who have experienced some of them. Well let me tell you after having bought T H R E E of these cameras (2 failed) one still working thank GOD and that I can only conclude that this was a M A J O R defect in manufacturing/design and that you would certainly be a gambling person to now pay more than $100.00 for one of these delightfull camcorders. The performance and abilities of this camera are awesome for the price of around $300.00 and nothing can compare. Problem is you c a n n o t depend on the camera working from one day to the nect because of the lens cap defect.
What a pitty and a shame on JVC's part in how they refused to correct there known defect. Shame on outlets thjat are still trying to get rid of these cameras at a premium price... Even a 90 day return policy will not save you on this one.. better pay for a 2 year replacement/repair .

HEY JVC!! Lens Cap ERROR on this model, too
2007-04-28
|
| COME ON JVC!!! This is really pitiful! I bought a GRDF-450u about 15 months ago based on the high marks from Consumer Reports and only used it occasionally. It still looks brand new. Then, out of nowhere, I get blindsided with the dreaded "Lens Cap" error and now it is absolutely useless! (for those of you not familiar with the LENS CAP error, basically the camcorder powers up fine but will not record because it falsely senses the Lens Cap is on when it is not. The viewfinder and LCD screen are blank except for "LENS CAP" flashing) Several JVC camcorder (various model numbers) owners have fallen victim to this obvious design/manufacturing flaw. JVC's product development and quality assurance must really suck. JVC has offered to fix this on several camcorder models but NOT the GRDF450u? WHY??!!! I mean this model put JVC in the spotlight!! Consumer Reports rated it #2 last year. I guess they didn't know it was going to be a LEMON. Do yourself a favor and try another brand such as Sony, Panasonic or Hitachi. |

Lens cap error? Fix it yourself for free!
2007-02-14
|
See my review of the GR-DF430U for more information. I'll try to help anyone with this problem, as the repair is relatively simple and you can do it yourself. No need to pay JVC anything at all. They should have fixed this problem long ago, but refused to help out their customers for whatever reason. A bad business decision, in my opinion.
Contact me if you require assistance and instructions on how to fix this problem. Save your hard-earned money and don't pay JVC to fix this! |
