This product is an overnight charger that charges in 8 to 12 hours. Just pop it in the wall the night before your trip and you're ready to go in the morning. This product does not feature automatic shut off so it should be removed from the wall outlet when it is done charging to preserve battery life. This product is also compatible with AAA batteries. In order to charge AAA batteries just flip down the tab on the charger and it now fits AAA batteries. Flip the tab back up to charge AA batteries. The included 2500 mah rated batteries meet or exceeds all manufacturers specifications. Batteries are okay, but the charger is dangerous 2009-01-05
There's no automatic shutoff. The batteries can be dramatically overcharged and may well explode. They were too hot to touch when I unplugged the charger... After that the charger was thrown away.

Digital Concepts AA/AAA Battery Charger 2008-12-07
This is absolutely worthless!!! It takes forever (at least a week) to charge batteries and you have to watch so it doesn't overheat. I watch it like a hawk and leave it plugged in when I am home and unplug it when I leave for work. I've done that for about 2 weeks trying to charge the batteries and I still haven't gotten the "green lights". I would not waste your money. This is one of those "you get what you pay for" items. It is inexpensive to buy but a piece of garbage that doesn't work and you have to watch. Honestly, I wouldn't even give this a one star rating.

Found this item to be of adequate quality for the money. One drawback. It does not shut off automatically. You will have to remind yourself to remove from the receptacle within 24 hours or the batteries and unit will become hot. Feel I got my monies worth..

Batteries charged ok and work with no problem. I bought it for the batteries (great price for AA's) inspite of some negative review for the charger. I did not encounter any problems with the charger as others did.

batteries only charged once. dont waste your money on these buy a more well known name brand instead.
